Great show with Cruiserweight and Veda
this past Saturday nite. Really good times... So the CW8 gang stayed
with us (the crawford's) all weekend which involved lots of trampoline jumpling
with our kids and eating lot's of rice krispie treats. While they were
in town, Stella let me listen to the Limbeck record. Holy smokes, what
a great record. My favorite song right now - "Julia". Here's a link to
the video...

Hey ya'll-
We're playing a show at The Hurricane in two weeks with my cousin's from Austin. They play in a band called Cruiserweight, they sort of sound like Jimmy Eat World with a female singer. Really great songs, really excellent music. I (mike) was fortunate to help them produce their new record Sweet Weaponry here in Kansas City a year or so ago. Go to their site to check out that new release, it just came out on Doghouse/Heinous Records this past week. You can listen at their site...
This week I've been listening to a new record by a band called Cheyenne. Our friends over at The Record Machine just released this piece of plastic last week as well. It's called I Am Haunted, I Am Alive. Go to the Record Machine site or the Cheyenne site to stream that great new music. Very nice production values, sort of Wilco-y in the creativeness of the recording. Great songs, laid-back vocals, wobbly-haunted acoustic guitars, and banjo. I mean, what else do you need? I was talking to my good friend Aaron Mitchum and he was saying he thinks banjo is the new electric guitar. I have to agree...Dang it, my friend Carissa's grandma made me give her's back - and just when I was getting the hang of "Goodnight Ladies"... "

Hey, it's mike, testing the blogger feature of our site out. May not use this a ton, but thought we might list links, books read, musics listened to here. Here ya go:
Been interested in Wilco's newest guitarist Nels Cline since the cover story in Guitar Player came out on him. His site is incredibly deep with info, links, etc. Check it out. Also some free MP3s of his are up at Guitar Player.
I just ordered Mike Watt's "Contemplating the Engine Room" over at Music Exchange based on reading up on it. Nels is evidently all over the record... Also interested in Scarnella and Noe Venable because of the article. Amazing what a little article can send you looking for...
heart,
mc
